Kumkum Bhagya Continues To Reign, 24 Stays Lukewarm
When there are so many shows flooding TV screens on a daily basis, standing out is no mean feat. However, there are a few shows which have not only made a mark but continue to power on. For yet another week (Week 32, between August 6-12), Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya featuring Sriti Jha, Shabbir Ahluwalia and Mrunal Thakur in pivotal roles, continued its reign and was the most watched show as far as the TRPs are concerned.

Shows like Zee TV’s Brahmarakshas-Jaag Utha Shaitaan, Star Plus’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Sony SAB’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah and Star Plus’s Yeh Hai Mohabbatein clinched the second, third, fourth and fifth spots respectively.
We were surprised to see the new show Brahmarakshas- Jaag Utha Shaitaan, secure the second spot in terms of highest viewership considering the first episode aired on August 6 itself and it’s a weekly.
Anil Kapoor’s much-hyped 24- Season 2, which airs on Colors, continued to have a lukewarm run and it wouldn’t be incorrect to say that it does not even feature in the list of top 50 shows on Indian television; the show just fails to pick up. In fact, the top show on Colors is Shakti- Astitiva Ke Ehsaas Ki.
The Kapil Sharma Show sustained its place as the most popular show on Sony, but it remains to be seen if it features among the top 5 in the future.
